I have no desire ... all the time

Anorgasmia causes a lack of orgasm or a lack of satisfaction in achieving orgasm; it mainly affects women, but can also occur in men. It can be diagnosed when problems with achieving orgasm last for at least six months. In order to diagnose this disorder, it is also very important to establish that the woman desires to reach orgasm and that failures cause her strong dissatisfaction and reduce her level of satisfaction with her sex life. There are situations in which a woman has an orgasm, but only in certain circumstances, such as during masturbation or during sleep, while she does not reach orgasm in other situations - on waking or during intercourse with a person. If the inhibition of orgasm does not depend on the will of the partner/s and the type of stimulation, we are dealing with general anorgasmia.

Orgasmic inhibition can coexist with other disorders, such as desire disorders (in 12% of women) or sexual arousal disorders (31%). In such cases, in-depth diagnostics should be performed to determine the sequence of these disorders. On the Webinar Academy platform, the concepts of desire disorder and sexual arousal disorder are further developed.

Anorgasmia and its causes

Anorgasmia can have various causes. Sometimes it is difficult to find a specific reason for the dysfunction because several different factors overlap. These include biological or social and psychological factors. Possible causes of anorgasmia can be: congenital anatomical defects of the reproductive organs, changes in the reproductive organs due to surgery or trauma, postpartum changes - orgasmic problems in this group of women can have very different causes; from lowered libido due to hormonal changes, breastfeeding, overtiredness or simply paying full attention to the baby, to changes in the reproductive organs caused by caesarean section, complications during childbirth or too early initiation of intercourse after childbirth, frequent infections of the genitourinary tract, post-inflammatory changes in the genital area, hormonal disorders, use of hormonal contraception, lack of contractility of the Kegel muscle, in the vast majority of cases this is an affliction that can be remedied, the key is regular exercise, the results should appear in a fairly short time, the progress of the training can be felt by regularly testing the Kegel muscles at home, all information on exercise and monitoring progress can be found on the training platform.

Menopausal changes, in this case hormone replacement therapy is a good solution, restoring hormonal balance, and it is this that is responsible for a sizable group of problems in this age group; in addition, studies show that women who take low doses of testosterone at this age report a greater desire for sex and high satisfaction with close-ups, damage to the spine or spinal cord, circulatory disorders, use of stimulants.

Social causes of anorgasmia have to do with upbringing, as well as guilt due to religious beliefs. Lack of adequate privacy during rapprochement can also be an important reason. In addition, there are also a number of psychological factors that may prevent sexual satisfaction.

Traumatic sexual experiences that occurred in childhood or adulthood include sexual violence such as rape, bodily violence or molestation. In such cases, the best solution is to seek therapy. Depression and the use of various types of antidepressants, in this case the problem can be twofold. Firstly, depression in itself often lowers libido, and thus can reduce pleasure during sex or masturbation; in addition, medication, although reducing the discomfort accompanying depression, can lower sex drive. Temporary reduction of sexual desire e.g. stress, fatigue both mental and physical. Anyone can have personal problems or a temporarily lowered mood, the consequence is a lowering of the sex drive, this should not be worried if it is a temporary situation. Lack of respect for a woman's sexual needs by her partner; we can speak of it when a man consciously does not seek to satisfy his partner. Resentment towards the partner, problems in the relationship. Fear of pregnancy, can be the cause of lack of pleasure especially in young girls, the best solution then is to choose effective contraception.

Sexual inhibitions - there is still a large group of women who are not aware of their needs, often due to their upbringing; sex is not discussed in many homes and if it is, it is presented as something bad involving sin. Find out more about sexual inhibitions and their causes in the webinar academy.

Communication problems - even though a woman is aware of her needs e.g. she reaches orgasm during masturbation, she does not know or does not want to tell her partner how he should touch her, this is often due to shame or fear that the partner will judge our fantasies negatively. Anorgasmia caused by a psychological background most often requires psychological or sexological help, this involves undertaking individual or partner therapy. It involves teaching the partners about sex, and communication training is often used to facilitate communication between partners, especially in the sexual sphere. However, the way in which the therapy is carried out and its nature is developed specifically for the needs of each woman.

Is this what every one of us has?

Anorgasmia is an embarrassing dysfunction that is divided into types depending on the group of people it affects and the reason for the dysfunction, and here are some of them: Primary anorgasmia - this occurs from the onset of sexual life. People who suffer from it have never peaked during intercourse, fondling or masturbation. In such a case, serious and permanent hormonal problems, anatomical defects, severe emotional disturbances, etc. can be taken into account. If the withholding of orgasm is independent of the partner(s) and the type of stimulation, we are dealing with general anorgasmia.

In comparison, secondary anorgasmia is said to occur in the case of women who have achieved full satisfaction in the past, but for various reasons have stopped reaching their peak. The reason can be either a change of partner, a deterioration of the relationship or even the start of a hormonal method, the onset of an illness or trauma.

In addition, situational anorgasmia can also be distinguished. This concept is compared to a secondary disorder, although not always. An excellent example is the inability to reach orgasm during sexual intercourse with a partner/s, even though the ability to peak as a result of hand stimulation is preserved - either as a couple or during solo masturbation.

How to cure ... anorgasmia

The treatment of anorgasmia is complex, based mainly on cognitive behavioural therapy. It is worthwhile to include working on self-acceptance and increasing awareness of one's own body, as well as correcting misconceptions. Professionals very often choose to stimulate women's erogenous spheres by introducing appropriate masturbation techniques and training the weakened Kegel muscles. Masturbation with a vibrator or going to couples therapy are recommended. More on the types of therapy can be found on the Webinar Academy platform.

A varied sex life may also prove to be a good remedy. In cases where routine is a problem, it is worth reaching for erotic accessories to bring a breath of fresh air and a touch of spice. In such a situation, the method of treatment itself begins with psychological therapy, which is mainly aimed at rebuilding a proper relationship between partners and sex education for the man. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the way the therapy is conducted and its goals are set individually for each patient. Any vibrators, dildos, pads, lube, restraining toys or sexy lingerie can significantly raise the temperature in the bedroom.

The method of treatment for anorgasmia depends on the underlying cause. Psychotherapy may be involved, as well as pharmacological and hormonal treatment, and often causal treatment of primary diseases that may impair sexual function is also necessary.

The wide range of condoms is also worthy of attention - many are designed to further stimulate the senses with special tabs, striations or cooling or warming gels. In addition, men who use protection and are unable to reach orgasm for this very reason should remember to equip themselves with condoms that are as thin as possible, so that they can better feel contact with their partner. For more on this topic and a detailed description of stimulant and contraceptive products, see the training platform.

Are you doomed to a lack of sexual pleasure? Absolutely not. Orgasmic dysfunction can be successfully treated, there are many attractive therapy offers or a wide range of products to raise the temperature in bed, however, the treatment of anorgasmia starts with a consultation and characterisation of the foothold of this dysfunction with a specialist, so women and men suffering from this dysfunction should overcome their embarrassment and start an effective method of treating anorgasmia in order to enjoy their sexual life again.
