Religion and sex
The largest religions in the world include Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. In Judaism, a Jewish girl becomes a woman at the age of 12-13. From an early age, she learns the rules of running a household, according to the tenets of religion, her task is to maintain a positive atmosphere at home and raise children. The man, on the other hand, is to provide the family with appropriate living conditions. The rules of male-female relations are governed by the halacha. According to the rules, two people of the opposite sex cannot be in one closed room unless they are a married couple, parent and child, or adult and child. In Christianity, the mother of Jesus is presented as a model female. Motherhood is considered her primary mission. Sexual initiatives before marriage are a sin, although women should in theory be able to choose their path in life, here too patriarchy prevails to this day. In Islam, the role of women has been defined by Allah. Their basic function is to be a mother, wife, sister, grandmother, etc. Women should marry after reaching maturity. A Muslim woman must marry a Muslim. From an early age, girls are taught that the most important things are virtue, obedience and work. They are being taught and prepared to be subordinate to a man. In this religion, women are bound by many prohibitions and commandments. They must undergo circumcision, a painful ritual of genital mutilation. In Hinduism, the role of a woman is that of a housewife too. A birth of a girl is considered a misfortune. The Kama Sutra, the book of love, comes from Hindu culture. This is one of the most extensive collections of sex positions. Webinar trainings will provide more information about the cultures and religions of the world Academy. Christianity and sex
According to Christianity, sex is only allowed within marriage. However, getting married alone does not guarantee the fairness of sexual intercourse. All infertile acts are considered inappropriate. Therefore, the use of any form of contraception is forbidden - failure to comply with this rule is treated as a mortal sin. Such persons cannot participate in the sacrament of the holy communion, they are considered to cause scandal among others. In addition, any sexual act in a non-heterosexual relationship is always a sin. People with an orientation other than heterosexual cannot marry their partner. A lot of additional information on this subject will be provided by Webinar Academy training. Celibacy for men and women
Although celibacy really means a voluntary resignation from marriage, it is most often understood as sexual abstinence. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that "An engaged couple are called to a life of chastity by observing abstinence. (...). Manifestations of tenderness proper to conjugal love should be preserved for the duration of the marriage. (...)". Celibacy has significant health consequences. Lack of sexual activity, i.e. masturbation and intercourse, can lead to a weakening or loss of sexual reactivity, a decrease in the level of certain neurotransmitters or hormones. Men can suffer from prostate enlargement, both sexes experience an increased predisposition to depression and faster ageing of the body. Celibacy applies primarily to priests of the Roman Catholic Church and bishops from the Orthodox Church. It is also present in Hinduism and Buddhism. However, often news surface about situations where priests were unofficially involved with a woman. Females living in celibate may feel more stressed, suffer from sleep problems, memory and immunity disorders. In addition, the vaginal walls become weaker. Faith and biology
Many assumptions of faith can be incomprehensible if viewed in biological terms. People are directly affected by sexual restrictions. Sex drive is natural for a human being and in fact (unless it is excessive and is not associated with addictions or disorders) improves our health. However, a libido too small should also be a concern. According to religion, it should be suppressed unless it leads to a pure sexual act between spouses who do not use contraception and who treat it as a way of expressing love, not as a necessity to satisfy their instincts. The church recommends "dealing" with the drive in ways that are simply ineffective - doing sports, praying or "mortifying the body". We should touch on the so-called ecclesiogenic neurosis here, which is caused by, among other things, repressing sexual needs and treating pleasure as a bad thing. It is classified as an anxiety disorder - it usually manifests itself in the form of religious fear, in which guilt plays a huge role. People suffering from it are accompanied by fear of punishment and eternal damnation, and their situation is so problematic that they often cannot confide in the problem with their relatives. The tension of having to follow the rules concerning sexuality makes it difficult to enjoy your sex life. In fact, behaviour during sexual intercourse should be largely spontaneous, mutual understanding of partners and having similar needs is extremely important to achieve arousal, which can be difficult when partners are still thinking about following specific rules or in the case where only one person is a firm believer. Christian principles regarding sex also have an effect on physical health, which has already been described in more detail. Webinar Academy training platform will allow you to explore this topic in more detail.
Reconciling living in accordance with the principles of one’s professed faith and deriving true satisfaction from sex life is not an easy task. Especially for young people, for whom religion is mostly no longer the most important aspect of life, as it was in the case of their ancestors, consider its influence on the sexual sphere to be destructive. Anyone who wants to expand their knowledge on these and similar topics can use the Webinar Academy online platform.
